01 · The challenge

Orbis needed topology-optimised brackets in 7075-T651 and Ti-6Al-4V with wall sections down to 0.8 mm, and the first flight unit was six weeks from integration.

02 · What we did

We machined all 212 parts on two five-axis cells with in-process probing, adding a low-stress rough-finish sequence to control distortion. Every part shipped with an AS9102 first-article report and material certificates.

03 · The result

The full lot passed incoming inspection with zero non-conformances. Orbis now releases new bracket designs to us straight from their optimiser and expects parts inside three weeks.

“Their FAI package was more complete than the ones we write ourselves.”
